So I finally took the plunge and bought into the drone scene about three weeks ago and purchased a DJI Phantom Vision 2+ from a retailer on Long Island, NY called Aces Deals. Just call Peter, the owner if you are interested! It is a pricy, but I wanted First Person View (FPV) “IE you can see in a monitor where you fly” and although I was going to use it with my GoPro, DJI make s a package that is hard to resist with the Phantom 2+.
I also got some accessories for it in the last few weeks while it has sat on the dining room table. To be frank, I was nervous about even starting the engines! 🙂 I watched every You Tube video, including all of the crash ones, until I had it all memorized; what can go right and what can go horribly wrong on your first flight. LOL
Today I felt like today was the day to try it so this afternoon, I took it out in the yard, completed the pre flight checklist and took off! It was easier than driving a car and rock steady in it’s behavior. I felt so crazy confident I offered the opportunity to fly it to Debbie and Kate and they both did it flawlessly.
Not to say I wont crash it tomorrow, but….
